The Presidency of the Republic is to launch early next September at the Friendship Hall the "Through-Mobile Payment Project", in the presence of ministers of economic sector and all relevant parties. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has announced completion of all the technical arrangements for the launch of the project in coordination with the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS), Sudatel and MTN companies.

Last week, a very significant development took place. On Friday 13 January 2017 the US administration passed and amended laws that revoke certain Sudan - related unilateral sanctions which were in place for almost two decades. This opens the door for all financial, banking and trade transactions, including fund transfers and dealings in which Sudan is party.
